Catalyst Appoints Rossana de Maio as Managing Director – Fund Services

The Catalyst Group is excited to announce the appointment of Rossana de Maio as Managing Director – Fund Services. Based in Catalyst newest office – Rio de Janeiro – Rossana will be responsible for further developing and running the firm’s global fund services operations that today spans 5 jurisdictions and accounts for over 150 clients and $8bn in AUM.

Rossana joins Catalyst from the Bahia Group where she worked for 18 years, most recently as Partner and Head of Operations and Compliance (a role that she has held since 2011). Rossana is a highly experienced operational and regulatory professional with a deep knowledge of the global asset management and investment funds markets in Brazil, the US, the Cayman Islands and Europe.

A passion for innovation and heightened analytical acumen, combined with her highly developed problem-solving skill set has allowed Rossana to develop, improve and fundamentally overhaul a wide array of control systems, policies and operational infrastructure for financial instruments and investment funds globally

Prior to Joining the Bahia Group, Rossana worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Uruguay, auditing market-leading companies, before serving for 4-years with Uruguay ‘Free Zone’ companies that were investing in Brazilian and Offshore markets.

Rossana graduated with a degree in Accounting from the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay in 2000 and a post-graduate degree in administration in 2003. She also holds an MBA (ABD) from Universidad Católica del Uruguay – Montevideo.

In 2020, she was also admitted as a member of the 100 Women in Finance, a role that plays close to her heart and something she takes very seriously. In addition to 100 WiF, Rossana is a ESG fundamentalist who believes that the Environmental, Social, and Governance principal start at the ground level in all day-to-day activities carried out within an organization.
