His career began in South Africa at Webber Wentzel, but it was his move to Luxembourg in 1985 that set him on a path of international impact. Over the years, Steve played a crucial role in shaping the offshore investment fund landscape, advising global mining and financial clients, and engineering complex cross-border corporate structures. As CEO of Maitland from 2006 to 2022, he transformed the firm into a multidisciplinary financial powerhouse, ultimately leading its successful transition through four major acquisitions.

Now an active investor and board advisor, Steve’s leadership at Catalyst goes beyond governance—he provides invaluable insight on strategy, growth, and long-term vision.
